"ουτως γαρ ηγαπησεν ο θεος τον κοσμον ωστε τον υιον αυτου τον μονογενη εδωκεν ινα πας ο πιστευων εις αυτον μη αποληται αλλ εχη ζωην αιωνιον."
What if no one had ever translated that verse and you had to read it in the original Greek?
Or, what if the following was the only translation available to you?
"sic enim dilexit Deus mundum ut Filium suum unigenitum daret ut omnis qui credit in eum non pereat sed habeat vitam aeternam."
What a great verse! Isn't that a blessing to you? Does that help you to know God and grow in your faith? No?
That's a rough idea of what it might be like for people whose language is one of about 1800 that don't have even a single verse translated yet.
